PAPER FEEDING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To rotate a feed roller at the downstream side following a feed roller at the upstream side by a friction force with paper sheets without giving a driving force, when the paper sheets are fed from the feed roller at the upstream side. CONSTITUTION:This paper feeding device is composed of pickup rollers 4 and 5 corresponding to paper sheet housings 2 and 3; plural feed rollers 7a and 8a connected to a motor while being arranged along a paper feeding passage 6, and taking over the paper sheets 9 fed from the pickup rollers 4 and 5; and a one-way clutch 27 provided in a power transmitting passage between the motor and the feed roller 7a at the downstream side of the feed roller 8a provided at the uppermost stream side of the paper feeding passage 6. When the papers are fed from one side paper sheet housing 2, a driving force is given only to the pickup roller 4 and the feed roller 7a, and when they are fed from the other side paper sheet housing 3, the driving force is given only to the pickup roller 5 and the feed roller 8a, and the feed roller 7a at the downstream is rotated following by the friction force with the paper sheets.
