Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To perform register-presetting automatically by calculating the position of a compensator roller so that the gate positions and register adjustment marks are printed at constant distances based upon a detected result of the shaft mark positions of a printing board, and then effecting preset thereby. CONSTITUTION:By rotating an plate cylinder 10, shaft marks are detected by a mark detector 42, and the phase differentials are calculated by a preset personal computor 3. The preset personal computor 3 calculates the position of a compensator roller 12 on the basis of the peripheral position phase from a motive shaft phase reading device 2 and mark detecting signals of a mark judging computor, so that the gate positions and resister adjustment marks are printed at a constant distance required for a scanning head 6 to detect the resister adjustment marks of each plate cylinder printed on running paper. Further, the gate position center is outputted on a gate position setting device 4, and the position data is outputted on a compensator roller position preset device 7.
