DAMAGE PREVENTING METHOD FOR WET TYPE FRICTION TRANSMISSION AND DEVICE THEREFOR

PURPOSE:To prevent damage due to heat generation by accurately grasping the temperature state of a contact section. CONSTITUTION:Oil temperature sensors 34 and 36 detect the temperature of the lubricant flowing into a clutch 10 and the temperature of the lubricant flowing out of the clutch 10. A detected temperature difference calculator 42 determines the difference between the temperatures detected by the oil temperature sensors 34 and 36. A plate temperature calculator 46 determines the temperature of the disk 14 of the clutch 10 from the output signals of the detected temperature difference calculator 42 and the oil temperature sensor 34 and sends the result of the calculation to a first comparator 52. An inside and outside peripheral temperature difference calculator 48 determines the difference between the temperatures of the inside and outside of the clutch 10 and sends the result of the calculation to a second comparator 54. When the temperature determined by the plate temperature calculator 46 and the temperature difference determined by the inside and outside peripheral temperature difference calculator 48 rise higher than a reference value, the comparators 52 and 54 output 'H' to an OR circuit 58, activating an alarm device 60.
