Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To provide a refractory for casting mold used mainly as a tapping spout, particularly a wall lining material for large chute. CONSTITUTION:The refractory for casting mold consists of 20-60% magnesia- alumina spinel having >=0.25mm particle diameter, 5-45% alumina, 10-20% silicone carbide, 0.5-10% acicular coke in weight and the balance at least one kind of a binder among fire clay, super fine silica powder and alumina cement and an organic foaming agent. In the composition, since the magnesia-alumina spinel is inferior to alumina in corrosion resistance against Ca component in a slag though it has more resistance than that of alumina against the permeability of Fe component, an excellent result is attained by making the particle diameter equal to or more than 0.25mm to prevent increasing specific surface area.
