LONG OBJECT HANDLING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To handle many long objects such as nuclear fuel rod automatically and continuously for many hours by holding them horizontally without bending them and taking them out of an exclusive tray without scratching them and transfer a plural number of long objects at one time without holding each long object directly so as to improve work efficiency and safety. CONSTITUTION:A long object handling device consists of an exclusive tray 4 which stores a plural number of long objects supported on an inside rug member in the condition which they are accumulated in a plural number of layers, a conveyor 3 which conveys the exclusive tray 4 to the predetermined position and positions it there, and a frame 1 which is provided along the exclusive tray 4 which is positioned. Further, the device has a conveyance device 10 which is provided in the frame 1 and can travel horizontally between the position which is right above the exclusive tray 4 which is positioned and the other predetermined position, a lift member 15 which is provided in such a way that it can ascend and descend for the conveyance device 10, and a plural number of grip devices 17 which are provided vertically at the position which corresponds to each inside rug member 5 of the lift member 15 and grip each inside rug member.
