TRACK MATCHING DEVICE FOR MAGNETIC HEAD

PURPOSE:To perform the matching of tracks simultaneously on both a sliding plane side and a rear side with high precision in a track matching device which matches the tracks of two head core half bodies and performs temporary fitting when the head core half bodies are welded via a nonmagnetic gap material in the manufacturing process of a magnetic head used in a magnetic recorder. CONSTITUTION:This device is the track matching device to match the tracks and to perform the temporary fitting when the head core half bodies 1a, 1b are welded via the nonmagnetic gap material, and it is equipped with a mechanism 4 which performs the jogging of one of stages 2a, 2b which adsorbes the core half bodies in one direction, and a mechanism 5 which performs the jogging of stage on the other side in a direction, intersecting orthogonally to that of the stage and rotates it by minute amount within a plane parallel with a gap plane, and track deviation can be inspected by microscopes 3a, 3b from the sliding plane side and the rear side simultaneously. Thereby, it is possible to perform the track matching with precision within + or -0.3mum even in a narrow track head with track width of around 6mum.
