Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain a matrix type display driving device obtaining an image with uniform cotrast in the vertical direction of a liquid crystal pannel. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a cramp circuit 104 varying a black display level in a drive signal driving a matrix type display and a black display level modulation signal generator 105 generating a modulation signal inputted to the cramp circuit 104 for setting the prescribed black display level, and as the modulation signal, a signal having a period of one vertical scanning interval of a video signal is used. Thus, the image with high quality is obtained in which no luminance difference and no contrast difference occur in an upper part, an intermediate part, a bottom part in a picture where the picture of the matrix type display is displayed.
