Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain an industrially advantageous method for producing a mixed acid anhydride in which a fatty acid chloride can effectively be utilized by the presence of an organic tertiary amine and the mixed acid anhydride can simultaneously be obtained in good yield. CONSTITUTION:The objective method for producing a mixed acid anhydride expressed by the R1COOCOR2 (R1 is 3-24C saturated or unsaturated alkyl group or phenyl group which may be substituted and a group different from R2 described below; R2 is 3-24C saturated or unsaturated alkyl group or phenyl group which may be substituted and a group different from R1 mentioned above) is characterized by reacting an organic acid expressed by the formula R1COOH (R1 has the same meaning as that described above) with an organic acid chloride expressed by the formula R2COCl (R2 has the same meaning as that described above) in the presence of an organic tertiary amine in an aqueous solution of an alkali metallic hydroxide.
