Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To reduce vibration of a belt member and easily release belt tension while high accurately controlling a meander of a belt. CONSTITUTION:In a picture forming device of linking an endless belt driven between a plurality of rolls having at least a driving roll and tension-giving roll 14, the device comprises the roll 14 formed of an elastic member with many slits 14a formed in the surface, supporting members 40 for rotatably supporting the roll 14 and belt meander restricting members 54 slidably supported in a shaft direction on a shaft in both side surfaces of the supporting member 40 also elastically supporting belt both end parts relating to the supporting members 40. The device comprises a tension giving mechanism 36 provided in the supporting member for giving tension to the endless belt, tension release mechanism 43 for releasing action of the tension giving mechanism and a tilt mechanism 48 for tilting the roll in the shaft direction.
