Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To display a text pattern and a graphic pattern on a display device through synthesis of the patterns. CONSTITUTION:A character code 2 outputted from a program 1 is given to a text display device 4, converted into a text display pixel 6 and outputted to a text synthesizer 8. Moreover, graphic data 3 outputted from the program 1 are given to a graphic display device 5, converted into a graphic display pixel 7 and outputted to the text synthesizer 8. The text synthesizer 8 uses the text display pixel 6 as an output pixel 10 and outputs it to the display device 11 when the graphic display pixel 7 and the text priority pixel 9 are equal to each other and uses the graphic display pixel 7 as the output pixel 10 and outputs it to the display device 11 when the graphic display pixel 7 and the text priority pixel 9 are not equal. The test screen is used for character display in the window system and high speed character display is attained.
