Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain a coating compsn. capable of forming a tough coating film excellent in scuff and indentation resistances, by adding an isocyanate prepolymer to an oligomer obtd. by reacting a polyfunctional epoxy compd. with a specific hydroxy acid. CONSTITUTION:1mol of an at least trifunctional epoxy compd. is reacted with 0.5 to 1mol of a hydroxy acid having a 3C or lower skeletal moiety and a hydroxyl or methyl group as the side chain thereof to form an oligomer. An isocyanate prepolymer is added to the oligomer thus formed to prepare a coating compsn. The at least trifunctional epoxy compd. is firmly bonded to the hydroxy acid to form the oligomer as a network resin component, to which the isocyanate prepolymer, which is very highly reactive with the oligomer, is added. Thus, the coating compsn., when heated and dried at a given temp. (100 to 150 deg.C) after the completion of application thereof, is turned into a very tough coating film.
