FREE SPAN TYPE FLAT CABLE AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF

PURPOSE:To save man power for terminal processing work and contribute to enhancement in quality by dispensing with splitting work of an integral portion, and eliminating deficiency such as elongation, breakage and exposure of a conductor of an electric wire due to the splitting work. CONSTITUTION:Integral portions A and separation portions B are arranged alternately where a plurality of electric wires with each center conductor 2 thereof covered with an insulator 3 are juxtaposed in the longitudinal direction. The integral portions A and the separation portions B are arranged at free intervals. A plurality of electric wires with the center conductor thereof covered with an insulator are arranged in parallel in the longitudinal direction, and interposed by an upper and a lower projections of stepped thermal fusing rolls 5, 6 in each which projections and recesses are disposed alternately on the circumference thereof, thus forming the integral portion A. The upper and lower stepped thermal fusing rolls 5, 6 are separated so that the separating portion B is formed suitably. Consequently, the integral portions A and the separation portions B are set at free intervals.
