IC MEMORY CARD

PURPOSE:To provide an IC memory card not requiring a dedicated IC memory for card attribute information storage by storing card attribute information in free memory part of a control IC. CONSTITUTION:Card attribute such as the kind, capacity, and speed of the memory, etc., can be selected by storing the card attribute information such as the kind, speed of the memory, etc., in the control IC 6, and applying wire- bonding to the prescribed terminals A-F of a selection means. For example, when neither a terminal A nor a terminal B are connected, 256KB is selected as the capacity of the memory. When the terminal A is connected and also, the terminal B is not connected, 512KB is selected as the capacity of the memory. When the IC memory card 1 is loaded on the IC card slot of a personal computer, it is directly connected to an address bus and a data bus, etc., via an edge 7 for connector, and the control IC 6 reads out the card attribute information at high speed by the instruction of the personal computer, or performs the fast read/fast write of data on the memory IC 5.
