PORTABLE TELEPHONE SET

PURPOSE:To make an S/N characteristic satisfactory when a transmitting part is close to a receiving part, and to make a telephone set main body thin by applying an energizing force to a cover by using ring, cam, and coil spring in specific shapes housed in a cover side protruding part, and stabilizing the cover at a position where the cover can be functioned as a reflected sound collecting board. CONSTITUTION:A shaft 70 is allowed to pass through a coil spring 60 and a ring 62, and inserted into a cover side protrusion 56, and a cam 68 with a shaft is fixed to an upper case 2A, and a cover 4 is pivotally supported by the upper case 2 so as to be rotatable. Then, the energizing force of the coil spring 60 is transmitted to the cover 4 according to the position of the rotation of the cover 4, and the stabilized position of the cover 4 is the position where the cover 4 can be included at 130 deg. against the upper case 2A by a relative position between the projecting part of the ring 62 and the wave face of the cam 68, so that the most satisfactory S/N can be obtained by using the cover 4 as the reflected sound collecting board. Thus, the S/N when the transmitting part is close to the receiving part can be made satisfactory, and the device can be made compact.
