COATING APPARATUS HAVING VAT

PURPOSE:To provide a coating apparatus having a vat not generating the skinning or color separation in the vat, capable of reducing the inferior part generated at the final part of a film heretofore as low as possible and replacing the vat in an extremely easy manner. CONSTITUTION:A coating apparatus is equipped with a backup roll 1 sending a sheet like article S in a predetermined direction, a vat 2 supplying a coating solution R to the surface of the sheet like article S when the sheet like article 3 passes on the backup roll 1 to form a film F and the coater head 3 positioned above the backup roll 1 and leveling the film F on the surface of the sheet like article S so as to set the same to predetermined thickness. The vat is composed of a cylindrical body longer than the width of the sheet like article S and made detachable at a predetermined position and both ends thereof are closed and a slit like coating solution emitting orifice is formed to the vat 2 along the longitudinal direction thereof on the side facing to the surface of the sheet like article S.
