PURPOSE:To surely guarantee data saved in an external storage device just before a fault is generated, even when the initial processing of a memory is performed for restarting a job at the time of generating the fault by storing the data of a normal data save area in the external storage device just before the fault of an internal memory is generated in the normal data save area. CONSTITUTION:Every time data are registered on a memory for registration in a RAM based on a data input from a keyboard, the normality of data is checked and when the data are normal, they are written in a normal data save area 13b in a system floppy disk 13. When the memory fault or the like is generated during such data registration processing, the error data at this time are written in the fault data save area 13c of the floppy disk 13 as fault data. Then, the normal data saved in the normal data save area 13b just before the fault generation are copied and saved in a normal data save area 13d. Further, a display part is notified of the fault.
