Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To provide a lithium secondary battery capable of being cyclically charged and discharged and excellent in the cycle life. CONSTITUTION:A porous insulating film 4 is formed on the surface of a negative electrode 1 faced to a positive electrode 2 in a lithium secondary battery D having the negative electrode 1 made of pure lithium or lithium alloy, an insulating material is deposited by spattering to form the porous insulating film 4 on the surface of the negative electrode 1, and it has the thickness of 5-100nm and the porosity of 10 -10 /cm . The lithium secondary battery excellent in the charge/discharge cycle life and having high electromotive force and a high energy density is obtained.
