Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To improve performance and assembly property with the air of the reduction of the variation of respective circuits and the reduction of the number of points to be adjusted, and simultaneously, to constitute a remote control system with the aid of small and compact light receiving area by constituting in common a part or all of the light receiving means of a remote control unit position detection signal and the light receiving means of an ordinary signal. CONSTITUTION:In a remote control unit 1, a remote control unit position detection signal generating means and an ordinary signal generating means generate signals at different timings respectively, and the signals are sent through an infrared ray signal generating means. As for the light receiving part 2, when the ordinary signal is transmitted from the remote control unit 1, the signal from a light receiving element 25 for detecting the ordinary signal is outputted as the ordinary signal by means of an ordinary signal operation signal D. When the position detection signal is transmitted from the remote control unit 1, remote control unit position detecting operation signals A, B, C are switched in turn and the signals from the photodetectors 21, 22, 23 for detecting the remote control unit position are outputted as the remote control unit position signal corresponding to the respective ones. The photodetectors 21, 22, 23 are made to be of narrow directivity by a reflector 24, and the directional property of an infrared ray from the remote control unit can be decided according to the output current level of the photodetector 21, 22, 23.
