SPHERICAL CONTACT POINT FOR ELECTRIC CONNECTOR

PURPOSE:To provide satisfying hardness and adhesion strength to a conductor coating by using resin having flexibility for a core part and resin having conductive and adhesive properties for a shell part and forming a conductive coating on the surface of the shell part. CONSTITUTION:A spherical resin 1 of a spherical contact point for a electric connector has a double-structure consisting of a core 3 and a shell 4. The core is made of resin having flexibility, which is crosslinked polyacrylic acid ester- based resin or crosslinked polymetacrylic acid ester-based resin. The shell 4 is made of resin having good adhesion strength to a conductive coating 2 wherein the resin is polystyrene type resin. The interface of the core 3 and the shell 4 may have a gradually changing structure in which the composition changes from the composition of the core 3 material to the composition of the shell 4 material. On the surface of the shell 4, a conductive coating 2 (Ni-Au) is formed by electroless coating method. Consequently, ideal properties as a spherical contact point for electric connectors are provided.
