FAULT DETECTING AND AUTOMATIC INCORPORATING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To suppress an increase in overhead due to processing for a faulty device and shorten the start-up time by providing a fault detecting device and an automatic incorporating device, and detecting the fault of the device and then performing disconnection and re-incorporation. CONSTITUTION:The fault detecting device 17 which is interrupted with the fault detection signal from the fault detecting circuit 14 changes the device state of a device control table 19 corresponding to an input/output device 13 into OFFLINE and outputs fault information on the input/output device 13 to a console 20 to interrupt an OS, thereby logically disconnecting the input/ output device 13. Once the input/output device 13 is replaced with a new unit, the fault detecting circuit 14 sends out a fault recovery signal to the automatic incorporating device 18. The automatic incorporating device 18 having received this interruption recognizes the recovery of the input/output device 13, changes the device state of the device control table 19 into ONLINE, and displays recovery information on the input/output device 13 on the console 20 and initiates an interruption to the OS; and the input/output device 13 is logically incorporated and access inhibition is canceled.
