Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To provide a sufficient strength against internal pressure, to make the height of a roof low to such an extent that a coercive feeling is not given to the circumstance, and to reduce the amount of heat entering a tank by disposing girder members comprising reinforced concrete material or prestressed concrete material in a radial manner and forming a roof into a truncated cone- shape between the girder members. CONSTITUTION:A body 11 of an underground tank is formed from a bottom plate 11a of cast-in-place concrete or the like and a cylindrical side wall 11b of reinforced concrete or the like. Next, a roof 12 is formed by disposing girders 13 comprising reinforced concrete material such as reinforced concrete or prestressed concrete in a radial manner. And a roof material 14 of reinforced concrete or the like is placed between the girders 13 to form them into a truncated cone-shape. As a result, the amount of heat entering the underground tank can be reduced and the amount of boil-off gas can be decreased.
