Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To provide the method for producing a spring for suspension good in coating corrosion resistance and free from delayed fracture. CONSTITUTION:In the method for producing a spring for suspension in which a series of processes of soaking, hot forming, hardening, tempering, stress peening, chemical conversion treatment, coating or the like or that of soaking treatment, cold forming, tempering, stress peening, chemical conversion treatment, coating or the like is undergone, at least a part of the surface of steel for spring is previously applied with nickel by brush plating, and it undergoes a series of spring producing process. Since hydrogen in the steel is released in the process of the soaking treatment and nickel is diffused and infiltrated, the corrosion resistance of the contact part between spring materials for suspension in a salt damage environment is improved, the generation of fracture starting points is disturbed, and furthermore, delayed fracture is prevented. By the brush plating, the conventional electroplating bath tank is eliminated, moreover, a series of spring producing process can be used as it is, and a high effect can be given also in the respect of the equipment cost. |
