Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To analyze the cause of the internal destruction of a body to be inspected by detecting the displacement of the surface of the inspecting body through an acoustic emission (AE) wave, and using a piezoelectric body to make an acoustic emission sensor small-sized and highly sensitive, and facilitating its attachment to the inspected body. CONSTITUTION:An acoustic emission sensor is composed of a columnar piezoelectric body 1 having an about conical recess, an electrode formed on the bottom and the conical plane having a conical recess of the columnar piezoelectric body 1, and a damping material 2 adheringly fitted into the conical recess.
