CYLINDER HEAD GASKET

PURPOSE:To improve plate thickness accuracy and heat dissipation or reduce permanent set and so on at fastening time by installing a metallic bore grommet around a cylinder hole after removing compressive material layers around the cylinder holes formed in a gasket body. CONSTITUTION:In a gasket body 31, both surfaces of a metallic plate 32 are coated with compressive material layers 33 composed of a compound containing compressive fiber and elastomer. A cylinder hole 34, a water hole 35 and an oil hole 36 are formed respectively in the gasket body 31. Projecting parts 37 are formed so as to surround the periphery of the water hole 35 and the oil hole 36. In such constitution, after removing the compressive material layers 33 around the cylinder hole 34, a metallic bore grommet 45 is installed around this. Gas seal parts are formed all of metallic members, and contact between the respective members is formed into metal contact. Thereby, plate thickness accuracy at fastening time and heat dissipation can be improved or permanent set and so on can be reduced.
