COLD ROLLING OF STAINLESS STEEL SHEET IN WHICH EAR CRACKING IS PREVENTED

PURPOSE:To prevent the ear cracking of a coil edge part and the resulting coil breaking by controlling the temp. of a coil to be rolled at the time of cold rolling of a sheet metal product of stainless steel. CONSTITUTION:The ear cracking of a coil edge and the resulting coil breaking, which are caused at the time of cold rolling by a tandem mill, Sendzimir mill, etc., for stainless steel, are caused when the coil temp. is 100 deg.C or higher at the time of cold rolling. Therefore, by controlling the temp. of a lube oil at 15-40 deg.C and controlling the coil temp. at 40-100 deg.C at the time of cold rolling, the ear cracking and the resulting coil breaking are prevented.
