Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To improve the output performance of a proton exchange film type fuel cell and reduce overvoltage in an oxygen electrode, particularly, when the operating pressure is relatively low by specifying the equivalent weight of a compound having a proton exchange group as electrode coating material. CONSTITUTION:A proton exchange film type fuel cell is formed of an ion exchange film 1 forming an electrolyte and a gas diffusion electrode K having a catalyst layer S. An electrode catalyst coating material P provided on the catalyst layer S of the gas diffusion electrode K and consisting of a compound having a proton exchange group is a fluorine-contained polymer having a sulfonic group (-SO3H), and the equivalent weight is limited to 1080-840g/eg, converted into the equivalent weight of the fluorine-contained polymer precursor having -SO2F in its terminal. A fuel cell having this can sufficiently lower the electrode overvoltage in oxygen electrode even when the operating pressure is a lower pressure lower than 5atm. |
