Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To save a slag treatment process and to reduce its treatment area to reduce the cost of the treatment by continuously turning over or agitating and mixing the slag in a molten state subjected to discharge to a pit by a ploughing device, thereby dispersing and solidifying the slag. CONSTITUTION:The slag generated in a refining stage of molten metal in a converter, etc., is discharged to a converter ladle 1 which is then transported by a converter ladle car 2. The slag in the molten or half molten state is subjected to skin holing 2 and is released 3 to a pit or yard. The ploughing device 4 is moved from one side end right thereafter to impart spiral motion to repeat ascending and descending to the slag in the pit or yard. The ploughing device 4 is preferably provided with a ploughing surface having a plane or curved contact surface with the slag and having projections or grooved guides, etc., on this contact surface. As a result, the cooling area of the slag is easily increased and the solidified slag is made into small lumps.
