Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To enable to accelerate the cooling and heat removal of a slag, the granulation of the slag, the substantial omission of a treating process, the promotion in removing heat and the reduction of the cost by treating the slag with a tilling device having a roller. CONSTITUTION:A slag generated in the refining process of a melted metal is discharged from a converter, poured into converter pots 1, and carried to a slag-treating field with a converter pot car. When the slag in the pot is covered with a skin, the skin is broken to form a hole for the facilitation of the discharge of the slag. The slag 3 discharged in a pit or on a yard is treated with a tilling device 4 attached to the front surface of a conventional bulldozer, and subsequently carried into a processing plant to adjust the sizes of the slag granules. The tilling device 4 is used for giving a press force to the slag 3, e.g. for giving a rotation movement to the surface of the slag 3 by the application of an upward moving stress with the projections and the curved surface of a projected roller in parallel to a flat surface vertical to the thickness direction of the slag.
