METHOD AND DEVICE FOR FORMING RETAINER

PURPOSE:To prevent a window hole nearby both end parts of a retainer from deforming by bending a blank made in a 1st bending process with a bending habit of a curvature a little larger then the curvature of the retainer as the final product into the curvature of the retaining as the final product in a 2nd bending process, and cutting the bent blank toward the center of curvature by a prescribed length. CONSTITUTION:A blank 1 with plural window holes 2a to hold bearings pressed at a prescribed pitch is added with bending habits of a curvature a little larger than the curvature of a retainer as the final products in a 1st bending process, and the blank added with bending habit is bent into the curvature of the retainer as a product in a 2nd bending process. Then, the blank bent to the curvature of the retainer is cut toward the center of curvature by a prescribed length in a cutting process. Accordingly, the blank subjected to cutting is not one of the length for one piece of the retainer, but the blank 1 is step-wise pre- curved before cutting, so that the window hole 2a nearby both end parts of the retainer is not deformed. Further, even if high speed cutting is applied, the flocculation of the cutting angle is hardly generated.
