DISPLAY DEVICE

PURPOSE:To provide a display device capable of displaying good large-sized display images. CONSTITUTION:A plane of polarization separating optical element member PPA which is constituted by sticking a vapor deposited film capable of separating the plane of polarization to a wide band in a visible region to a substrate consisting of a transparent material to the reading out light and color analyzing and synthesizing optical element members 12C, 13C, etc., which are constituted by sticking vapor deposited films having the characteristics to allow transmission of light of a specific wavelength region and to reflect light exclusive of the wavelength region on transparent substrates are disposed into a container D, the necessary surfaces of which are composed of materials transparent to reading out light, in such a manner that the both front and rear surfaces are communicated with the spacings from the inside surfaces of the container D on at least one side of these members. A light transparent liquid 8 having the refractive index approximate to the refractive index of optical glass is filled into the container.
