TESTING FACILITY FOR LIQUID FUEL SUPPLYING PUMP

PURPOSE:To safely treat liquid fuel so as to prevent effect by radiant heat on the peripheral zone by pressurizing and supplying water to a heater arranged between a combustion device and a heat shielding objective zone, and forming water curtain through a process of injecting water from the header. CONSTITUTION:When a great amount of liquid hydrogen is burnt in a burning pond 8, the burning flame forms a big column of fire 30. Accordingly, a shielding device 10 for shielding radiant heat is provided in a testing facility. In the shielding device 10, water in a storage tank 11 is supplied to a long header 13 by a pump 12, and water is sectorially injected from a large number of nozzles 14 provided on the header 13, thereby a water curtain 15 is formed. Both ends of the header 13 are supported by guide members 17 and can be slid along the guide members 17 by a driving device 18 in the direction to separate from and touch on the burning pond 8. The radiant heat from the gigantic combustion flame 30 is shielded by the water curtain 15 in the shielding device 10, thereby its effect on the outer peripheral zone of a facility can be eliminated.
