PURPOSE:To obtain a brush device wherein a brush is prevented from chipping to prevent an elliptic compression coil spring from intertwining in the case of conveyance, while preventing the point end part of a coil wire of the elliptic compression coil spring from protruding from a contact surface of the brush. CONSTITUTION:End parts 6b, 6c of an elliptic compression coil spring 6 are formed so as to fold in the inside of an elliptic part. A clearance A between the folded point ends 6b, 6c of the elliptic compression coil spring 6 and a coil wire, opposed to these point ends 6b, 6c, is set smaller than a coil wire diameter B of the elliptic compression coil spring 6.
