Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To aleviate load on an application controlling part, by a method wherein a means for checking medium detection information is provided on the side of a medium processing device, and setting of the medium after discharging the medium is detected on the side of the medium processing device. CONSTITUTION:A timer 45 is started by completion of a medium-discharging operation by an inserter mechanism part 21, a time-counting output is given to an interrution-processing part 44 at each predetermined time, and conditions of each sensors are detected. A detection-processing part 43 is started by a detection signal from an application controlling part 10, and output conditions of each sensor is checked only when drawing-out of the medium is detected by the processing part 44. When correct setting of a new medium is detected, the processing part 43 informs the application controlling part 10 of the present of a set medium, and a subsequent medium-processing command is generated by the controlling part 10. After generating a medium-discharging command, the controlling part 10 performs other processings in parallel.
