Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To uniform size of particles, to make free from dendritic particles and to attain large aspect ratio by adding urea or the like into a prescribed solution, again and, after that, adding an aluminate compound to take part in oxidation reaction. CONSTITUTION:In the case of obtaining a suspension (C) containing FeCO3 by allowing an alkali carbonate aq. solution (A) to react with ferrous salt aq. solution (B), urea or an easily decomposable acid amide (e.g. acetoamide) (D) of 0.5-5.0 atomic % per Fe in the component B expressed in terms of NH2 is previously added into one solution of components A, B and C to obtain a suspension (E). Next, the component E is aged at 60--85 deg.C for 30-300min in an atmosphere of gaseous nitrogen or the like, in the solution of which an aluminate compound of 1.0-6.0atomic% per Fe in the component B expressed in terms of A1 is added in the period between the last stage of aging step and the starting stage of oxidation reaction step to obtain a blended material (F). The powdery goethite particle is produced by allowing the component F to oxidation-react at >=80 deg.C while passing an oxygen containing gas.
