STRIP INSPECTING EQUIPMENT

PURPOSE:To enable a safe and sure visual inspection of both sides of a strip by a worker and to facilitate reduction in working time and scrap process. CONSTITUTION:A coiled strip 52 is unwound by a pay-off reel 40, the leading end is put through a shear 30 and a roller table 20, sent under a deflector roll 2, abutted on a guide plate 3 and advanced upward curvedly. The strip 52 is pressed to the deflector roll 2 to be wound on the deflector roll by rotating a snapper roll 4, the leading end of the strip is inserted, by rotating the snapper roll and the deflector roll, into the grip groove 11a of a reel 11 to be gripped, and a visual inspection is performed on the upper surface B of the strip between the reel and the deflector roll. The strip is rewound, and simultaneously wound on a tension reel 10 and a visual inspection is performed on the reverse surface A on the roller table.
