DRIVING DEVICE FOR DISK PLAYER

PURPOSE: To stabilize a reproduced sound and a reproduced image by sensing a compact disk or a video disk through a sensor and horizontally moving a pickup suitably for the kind of that disk. CONSTITUTION: In the state of not operating a variable resistor 11 for video disk reproduction, a compact disk reproduction control gear 10 engaged with a video disk reproduction control gear 12 is rotated, a variable resistor 9 for compact disk reproduction is operated, and a pickup 4 is set at regular position. When reproducing the video disk, a transmission motor 8 is rotated backward by a discriminate signal and operating opposite to this operating is performed. As a result, the reproduction control variable resistor 11 searches an operation starting voltage at the operating position of pickup 4 corresponding to the video disk read by the discriminate signal, and the reproducing operation is started.
