IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE

PURPOSE:To provide the image display device capable of displaying a nearly uniform number of display characters regardless of the frequencies of the horizontal synchronizing signal of an input signal. CONSTITUTION:This image display device consists of a deflection processing section 6 which generates a deflection voltage according to the frequency of the synchronizing signal among the input signals, a control section 5 which detects the frequency of the synchronizing signal included in the input signals and controls respective sections according to the frequency of the synchronizing signal, a video signal processing section 3 which processes the video signals included in the input signals and a display character generating section 4 which generates the characters to indicate the adjustment items, etc., for adjusting the images to be displayed on the image display device, displays these characters in superposition on the images in synchronization with the frequency of the synchronizing signal among the input signals and makes the number of the characters which can be displayed nearly constant regardless of the frequency of the horizontal synchronizing signal of the input signals.
