EMBROIDERY DATA GENERATING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To reduce a thread breakage caused during the embroidery sewing by a sewing machine, more easily compose a plurality of designs together, provide a pattern of more various designs, and further improve the quality of the finished embroidery. CONSTITUTION:A design memory 12 stores the data for designs embroidered into one distinctively for every embroidery yarn. A duplicate area calculating part 14 detects duplications between the patterns of the designs and also calculates the duplicate area for every duplicate area. A duplicate error judging part 16 compares the calculated duplicate area with a prescribed threshold for every duplicate position and judges a duplicate error. A duplicate position eliminating part 18 generates the data for the design to be embroidered from which the duplicate position judged as the duplicate error by the duplicate error judging part 16 is eliminated.
