Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To minimize the trouble of suspension in casting by clogging of a nozzle during casting by blowing both of gaseous Ar and N2 into the molten steel passing a nozzle in the bottom of a tundish. CONSTITUTION:The molten steel in the tundish is supplied through a nozzle formed in the bottom of the tundish to a mold for continuous casting. Both of the gaseous Ar and N2 are blown into the molten steel passing the nozzle at this time. The total amt. of the gases to be blown into the molten steel is previously determined. The gaseous Ar is blown first and thereafter the gaseous N2 is blow at the point of the time when the prescribed value is exceeded. The gaseous Ar and the gaseous N2 are blown under the conditions of satisfying formula I. In the formula I, T.Gas: the total amt. of the gases to be blown (l/min); Ar.Gas: the amt. of the Ar to be blown (l/min); N2.Gas: amt. of the N2 to be blown (1/min); [0]: 0(pp) in the steel; T.put: a throughput index; a, b: constants. As a result, blowhole defects are decreased.
