Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To ensure the continuity of a sub-carrier phase at the time of using chroma signals for 2 fields. CONSTITUTION:In an NTSC system, the reproduced chroma signals for 2 field 1 frame are supplied to a phase inversion circuit 30. An AND circuit 32 is opened in the odd numbered field (the first field) of the Nth frame, and an AND circuit 42 is opened in the even numbered field (the second field). Then, the reproduced chroma signals are outputted as they are while the phases of the sub-carriers are not inverted. Also, an AND circuit 34 is opened in the odd numbered field of the (N+1)th frame, and an AND circuit 44 is opened in the even numbered field. Then, the chroma signals are outputted while the phases are inverted. Therefore, the phases used in the Nth frame are inverted in the (N+1)th frame. Thus, an interlaced still picture in which the phases of the chroma signals are continuous can be obtained.
