Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To separate aliphatic amines with high resolution and detect the amines with high sensitivity by reducing the hydrophobicity on the surface of an anion exchange resin by utilizing the adsorption of an elute containing sugar or sugar alcohol. CONSTITUTION:After filling a separation column with a hydroxide type anion exchange resin (polystyrene-divinylbenzene copolymer), water or a xylitol aqueous solution is made to continuously flow through the column. Then a standard aqueous solution containing a weak base (sodium hydroxide) and hydrophilic and hydrophobic alkanol amines is supplied into the column. By respectively monitoring the electrical conductivity and absorbancy of the elute coming out from the column with a conductivity detector and ultraviolet spectrometer, their ion-exclusion chromatograms are recorded. Because of the alcoholic hydroxyl group contained in the xylitol, the surface of the anion exchange resin matrix becomes hydrophilic and chromatograms of amines can be obtained with high resolution and high reproducibility. |
