PURPOSE:To decrease a conversion loss and to miniaturize a conversion part by branching the terminal part of an optical fiber tape arrayed with plural optical fiber cores, providing independent single-core ferrules to the top ends thereof and executing multi-core/single core conversion. CONSTITUTION:A tape coating part 3 at the end of the multi-core optical fiber tape 1 is stripped and is reinforced with a branch reinforcing part 4 consisting of a resin coating or tube. The optical fiber cores 2 are cut apart by an extra thin blade to the single-core optical fibers. The single-core ferrules 5 are attached respectively independently to the top ends of the fibers 2. The ferrules 5 are connected to the connectors of the other fibers not shown. The conversion loss is thereby decreased and the conversion part is minaturized.
