Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To form a verdigris layer having stable hue on the surface of building materials at an excellent adhesive strength by applying an adhesive on the surface of the building material and after adhering the powder of copper, copper alloy and cuprous oxide, chemical conversion treating in the presence of an oxidizing agent. CONSTITUTION:An inorganic adhesive such as asphalt or an organic adhesive such as polyvinyl acetate is applied on the surface of a bass plate for building such as a cement plate, wood made plate, and the powder or flake of copper, copper alloy or cuprous oxide is thermal sprayed thereon. Next, the surface is brought into contact with solution of chemical conversion treating solution containing at least one kind of an ammonium salt of hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid and nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, a chloride of alkali metal or alkaline earth metal or furthermore cupric chloride or copper sulfide in the presence of the oxidizing agent such as MnO2, PbO2. The verdigris layer having beautiful hue is formed on the surface of the various non-metallic building material at excellent adhesive strength.
