Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain a new compound useful as a medicine having inhibitory action on multiplication of cultured cell of cancer. CONSTITUTION:A compound of the formula. The compound is obtained by culturing Penicillium sp.TF-0379 strain, a strain separated from a withered plant, in a medium containing various nutritive substances under an aerobic condition, adsorbing the culture solution on HP-20, eluting with methanol and acetone to give a concentrated syrup, purifying and isolating. Properties of the compound of formula. Appearance: yellow needle-like crystal. Melting point: 158-160 deg.C. Molecular formula: C20H20O5. Molecular weight: 340. Solubility: insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, methanol, acetone and dichloromethane. Properties of strain: excellently growing in oatmeal agar medium, malt essence agar medium, etc. The optimum temperature for growth: 30-33 deg.C. The optimum pH for growth is pH 4-5.
