Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To provide a braking force inspecting device for an elevator whereby braking force can be quickly accurately inspected. CONSTITUTION:A device comprises a speed detector 21 for detecting a speed of a car 5, RAM 25 for storing a speed data of the car 5 output by this speed detector 21 and a microcomputer 26 for calculating braking force of a brake machine 10 by obtaining deceleration at up/down operating time of the car 5 based on its speed data or the like stored in this RAM 25, so as to directly inspect the braking force of the brake machine 10 without adjusting its brake spring. In this way, the safety at the time of braking the car can be improved while efficiency of maintenance work of an elevator can be improved.
