METHOD AND DEVICE FOR TREATING ORGANIC MATTER-CONTAINING WASTE WATER BY ULTRAVIOLET RAY IRRADIATION

PURPOSE:To prevent the unexpected decomposition of hydrogen peroxide and to effectively utilize hydrogen peroxide in a method for decomposing the org. matter contained in waste water by injecting an oxidizing agent from plural spots including the raw water inlet part of a UV irradiation device. CONSTITUTION:The org. matter contained in waste water is decomposed by a UV irradiation device. In this case, the raw water contg. org. matter is firstly introduced into a device main body 1, and the UV irradiation lamps 7a and 7b are lit to irradiate the raw water with UV. Meanwhile, hydrogen peroxide is injected from an injection port 6a connected to an inlet pipe 2 close to the inlet and further injected also from the injection ports 6a to 6d connected to compartments 4a to 4d. Since hydrogen peroxide is injected in this way, the hydrogen peroxide is uniformly dispersed in the device, the hydrogen peroxide concn. is maintained in the whole device, and hydrogen peroxide is not wasted.
