Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To improve the resolution of a display device such as an LCD or the image pickup device such as a CCD, to obtain the display device in which a black frame of a matrix shaped wiring part is not remarkable and to utilize effectively an image pickup light striking on the black frame. CONSTITUTION:A back light transmitting through a picture display device 9 displaying a picture is polarized and the polarized light is given to a polarized rotation device 8 subjected to switching control by a predetermined period, from which two kinds of polarized lights are obtained and one polarized light is reflected in a PBS (polarized beam splitter) 4 and the other polarized light transmits through the PBS 4 and when the other polarized light is totally reflected in a mirror 5 or the like arranged behind the PBS 4, a thickness (d) of the mirror 5 is selected and the other polarized light is reflected and projected in almost middle of a pitch of the reflected light reflected by the PBS 4.
