Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To efficiently effect humidification and defreezing within a refrigerator by a method wherein a humidity within a vegetable chamber is detected, the vegetable chamber is humidified with a supersonic wave in response to a result of this detection, a part of the vegetable chamber is provided with a defreezing chamber and the defreezed item is defreezed with atomization of supersonic humidification. CONSTITUTION:A refrigerator is operated such that air cooled by a heat exchanging cooler is blown from a blowing port 34 into a vegetable chamber 31 and the air passes through a vegetable case 1 and an outer surface of a lid 3, thereafter the air is blown from a discharging port 35 into a refrigerator chamber. At this time, defrosted water generated from a heat exchanging cooler during a defrosting operation is supplied from a filter 11 into a water storing container 7 of a super-sonic humidifier 5 through a hose 10. In the case that a humidity of the vegetable case 1 detected by a humidity sensor is lower than a predetermined value, the super-sonic wave humidifier 5 is operated to blow out atomized water so as to humidify the vegetable case. In turn, a defreezing chamber 4 is mounted within the vegetable case 1 and at the same time the super-sonic wave humidifying device 5 is mounted within the defreezing chamber 4. With such an arrangement as above, the defreezed item within the defreezing chamber 4 is defreezed with atomized water of the supersonic humidifying device 5.
