Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To facilitate the formation of exactly spherical polymer particles having high monodispersibility and a relatively large particle diameter by mixing a specified aqueous polymerizable monomer emulsion with a specified aqueous seed particle dispersion, adding a specified compound to the resulting mixture and polymerizing the monomer. CONSTITUTION:This production process comprises mixing at one time a polymerizable monomer emulsion comprising a polymerizable monomer (e.g. styrene), a surfactant (e.g. sodium laurylsulfate), a polymerization inhibitor (e.g. t-butyl-hydroquinone) and water with an aqueous seed particle dispersion comprising polymer seed particles (e.g. PS) of a number-average molecular weight of 20000 or above, a polymerization inhibitor (e.g. hydroquinone) and water, adding a water-soluble polymer compound (e.g. PVA) to the resulting mixture and polymerizing the monomer in the presence of the seed particles dispersed in the water.
