Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To provide an aqueous acrylic emulsion self-adhesive which is excellent in water resistance, moisture resistance and adhesiveness to film material and, when used as a self-adhesive for a releasable surface-protecting sheet, does not contaminate the surface of an adherend after the protection sheet is released. CONSTITUTION:100 pts.wt. alkyl acrylate and/or alkyl methacrylate, 1-5 pts.wt. carboxylated copolymerizable monomer, and 0.1-1 pt.wt. crosslinkable monomer having at least two double bonds are subjected to emulsion polymerization in the presence of a polymerization initiator comprising a water-soluble azo compound and an emulsifying agent. The obtained aqueous emulsion containing polymer particles of an internal crosslinked structure and having a mean particle diameter of 100 nm or smaller is mixed with a crosslinking agent having at least two aziridine groups.
